About the weather

On the eve of a final paper’s due date, my computer crashed and — just like that — the paper was gone.

My head was spinning:

How am I going to get this paper done in time?

Why, of all days, would my computer choose to crash (as if it chose)?!

In hindsight, being mad about the situation is about as useful as being mad at the weather when it interrupts our plans.

There’s no vengeance to be had with weather systems — they just happen.

The real opportunity for development in moments like these is who we chose to be in response to them: either a victim who only sees obstacles to blame, or a hero who focuses on finding a way through.

No amount of frustration was going to bring back the paper, the only option was to rewrite it.

And the sooner I got back to work, the sooner I’d be done with finals.
