Feedback is your flashlight

Putting in a lot of work without feedback is like trying to navigate in the dark.

You can pace in whatever direction as fast and as often as you want, but without any indication of where you are relative to your destination, you are extremely unlikely to make it. You’ll also be really tired.

Feedback is your flashlight (if you’ve played Marco Polo, it’s your Polo) — it is the thing you can rely on to tell you if your efforts are moving you in the right direction or if they need to be adjusted.

Figure out what or who is qualified to give you feedback based on your goals.

Sometimes the best feedback will be data from a system; other times it will come from your customer or someone who is further along than you.

Either way, feedback will rarely just falls in your lap.

Seek it out early and often. You will learn more and move faster in the right direction.
