How did it go?

Half of the group I went mushroom foraging with this weekend were disappointed because there were very few mushrooms to pick due to a lack of rain over the last few months.

The other half — of which I was a part of — had a blast. They were satisfied with getting to go on a nice hike through a beautiful, lush forest.

Both groups are right.

Today I was singularly focused on getting a project done but I ended up not being able to finish it despite my best effort.

I could see the day as a total failure.

Or, I could reflect on all the things I learned today and all the progress that I made and see it as a victory.

Both perspectives, again, would be right.

There are so many ways to reflect on the events that unfold day-to-day — some leave us feeling refreshed and encouraged; others have a way of draining us.

You can choose.
