Off days

The human body is a fascinating, complex piece of machinery that — sometimes for inexplicable reasons — doesn’t perform as well as we’d like.

I woke up extremely groggy and struggled to focus, slumping from one task to the next.

The usual things I rely on — sunlight, exercise, and coffee — didn’t have the effect they usually do.

There’s a part of me kicking myself in much the same way you might hit the side of a malfunctioning computer in hopes that it’ll magically start working.

(Hint: this rarely works)

But then there’s another part of me that has matured over the years that recognizes that these days just happen, and that it’s very much a part of the human condition.

When they happen, there’s nothing special you need to do. You ride it out like you do any other day.

You will bounce back. Humans are good at that. You’re good that.

Be patient with yourself.
