Progress in disguise
A lot of progress does not feel like progress at the moment.
A subject matter in school or at work that you’ve struggled to grasp might leave you feeling deflated and mentally burnt out.
A solution that you’ve been trying to build but has brought you from one dead end to the next might leave you questioning if you’re really cut out for the work.
All these struggles and their accompanying feelings are often the predicate to a point in the future where, if you persist, you’ll generally figure things out — the subject matter will start to click, you’ll find the solution or at least a part of it.
Even if it doesn’t feel like it, consider that the struggle you’re going through to grasp something or to address an issue is not in vain but rather, it’s a fundamental component of your growth and progress.
