It’s no coincidence that the highest performing people I know make rest a high priority.

They understand that sleep and mental breaks are foundational for thinking clearly and executing at a high level, and that skimping on them isn’t sustainable in the long run.

The times when you feel like you can’t afford to rest are probably the times where you would benefit from resting the most.

For most of us this isn’t new advice, yet we sometimes fail to heed it at our expense.

The algorithm for how reenergize and breathe life into what you’re working isn’t a terribly complicated one, at least on paper:
