Sharing a message

You have shared a message when someone understands what you said.

You have shared a helpful message when it prompts someone to take meaningful action.

Stuff that makes it hard to understand:

  • Long paragraphs
  • Complicated sentences
  • Fancy SAT words

You may have heard the thought experiment, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

It doesn’t.

If no one understands what you said or is too overwhelmed to read the text, no one got the message.

For two years, the focus has been on developing a habit of putting thoughts into words.

Now that I have the habit, the focus is shifting to making the words as clear and shareable as possible.

The challenge is to keep it under 200 words so only the most important words are left.

The goal is to deliver an empowering and easy-to-understand message that has the greatest impact.
