The unproven path
When we are younger, we often look to others to approximate what the “right” path may be:
We decide that we should accomplish this thing, learn that skill, go that way…because it worked for someone else.
Choosing to take a path you’ve yet to observe is an inherently risky one — you haven’t seen it work in the real world, at least not up close.
So why would anyone in their right mind take this unproven path?
For the simple reason that it intrigues and excites you at least as much as it scares you.
Because it is the weight of your choices that you’re going to have to bear — you now, and you when you’re 80-years-old either wondering about the courage you didn’t quite find or reminiscing about the courage you found.
These precious memories — the good ol’ times — are being shaped by you right now.
You’re always one choice away from pivoting to courage.
