The little things

One of my fondest memories from childhood is sitting at the dining room table at my family’s place in Taiwan, eating a bowl of rice.

By most accounts this would be a totally mundane experience, yet for me, for reasons that even I don’t fully understand, it’s a special memory.

It also reminds me that even the smallest of moments of life can be sources of joy:

Someone getting the door for you, or you getting it for them.

The smell of your favorite beverage from the across the room.

Rays of sunshine cutting through the clouds.

A call from someone dear to you.

What’s cool is not only are these little moments of joy often available to you throughout your day, but you can also choose to do something kind for someone and be a source of light in their day as well.
