The significance of “yet”

Just because you’re not equipped now doesn’t mean you cannot become equipped.

Many of us have faced a difficult challenge and thought some variation of the following statements:

I’m not equipped to do this well.

I don’t know enough about this subject.

These statements are exactly one word short of being complete: they need “yet” at the end.

I’m not equipped to do this well yet.

I don’t know enough about this subject yet.

“Yet” is a mindset and a decision.

It’s the first step to making a plan to learn what needs to be learned in order to become good at something.

Everyone has to start from somewhere, really let that statement sink in.

If you’re not there yet, you are capable of getting there.
