The sun never left

May 5, 2025

Sometimes when metaphorical clouds cut in front of the sun, we revert to babies — tensing our bodies and exclaiming, “Why has the sun left!”

Unwitting to the fact that the sun never left, just as the person who covers their face in front of a infant doesn’t actually vanish.

It is simply out of sight, which is not the same thing as nonexistent.

One might call this a form of hope — to believe that a good outcome is out there even when we cannot see it, and that it is simply obscured by the need for time to pass, a little bit of effort to be given, and a bit of patience to be held.
