The super power you can’t turn off
We’re all connected.
Humor me for a minute:
This notion often gets dismissed because it sounds new-agey (in a bad way) and also comes across as a bit of a platitude.
But here is why it’s completely true in a practical sense:
The words and actions we exchange have the power to alter:
To alter how we think.
To alter how we process the world.
And in some cases, to alter how we act going forward.
And it goes both ways: you can something that makes someone feel great and empowered, or you can say something that brings them down.
You don’t need to look far in the history of your own life to understand that this is true.
That’s the super power we wield amongst each other, and it happens every time — in subtle and in big ways — whenever we speak and act.
So yeah, we are all connected all the time.
The way to deploy your power to create a culture that raises everyone up is simple:
Speak to empower, not cut.
Act to help, not harm.
It’s not a way. It’s the way.
