What You Are Not Changing, You Are Choosing
Some habits and circumstances are not good for us and we know it.
Still, they’re often easier to keep because change is hard — leaving comfort is hard — especially the more ingrained the habits and circumstances are into our lives.
On the other hand, choosing short-term discomfort seems like a rather small price to pay — a bargain, really — when we consider the opportunities for personal growth that change creates for us.
When you’re faced with a difficult change that you know in your bones is necessary for your growth, consider this question and bit of advice from Dr. Jenny Wang: “‘What is the cost of not changing?’ As someone once said, ‘What you are not changing, you are choosing.’”
