What’s changed?

It is imperative to be able to honestly and dispassionately assess whether or not you have made progress.

Ask yourself:

What has changed?

What decisions have you made?

What actions have you taken?

What specific evidence of progress can you point to?

It’s not such a bad thing when the honest answer is “no”, because you are at the very least prompted with the choice of doing something that changes your situation and moves you forward.

The most tragic position to be in is one of self-deception in which you are convinced that change is happening when in fact it isn’t — that something is moving when in fact it is not.

Under such an illusion, while resting assuredly on the laurels of unearned progress, you will find every reason to stay exactly where you are and no reason to do anything differently.
