You can be happy before.

We’ve all made our happiness contingent on something at some point:

I’ll be happy after this project is over.

I’ll be happy after this argument is resolved.

I’ll be happy after I’ve finished moving and unpacking.

We adopt this stance as if the presence of problems and being happy are mutually exclusive like oil and water…but are they?

Is it not possible to be happy before?

Can you be happy before the project is over, the argument is resolved, or the moving is done?

You owe it to yourself to give this proposition serious consideration.

You may be surprised to find that even in the most challenging of situations, you can set aside the conditions you’ve set for your happiness and choose to be happy right now.
