Your sign to rest
Unlike a phone that you can reliably plug in and charge back up to 100% every night, your energy is going to vary from day to day.
Some days you’ll be at 100%, other days you’ll be a 70%. If you haven’t experienced it yet, there are bound to be days where you feel close to 0%.
Sometimes you can explain it, other times you can’t. Life happens and human biology is insanely complex.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t push ourselves or try our best — I think we should.
But even the grittiest people eventually need rest.
If you keep pushing but feel like you’re running into the same wall over and over again, that’s probably a solid sign to step back.
One of my favorite equations of all time is from Brad Stulberg: “Stress + Rest = Growth”.
Both parts of the equation are equally vital, yet the second part is often neglected.
Prioritize rest.
