You’ve got a nanosecond to do it

The most prolific people I know don’t think they have much time.

The least prolific people I know think that they have plenty of time.

When it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of time, you end up doing more things today.

When it feels like there’s a ton of time, you end up doing more things tomorrow (or worse, never).

One of my favorite quotes of late on the topic of time is from Johnny Truant: “You have but a nanosecond on the universal clock to do whatever it is you’re going to do.”

A nanosecond.

You’re here and gone before the universe even has a chance to blink.

If you keep falling short of the things you want to do, it may be due to a skewed sense of time.

You may be a victim of the false sense of coziness and reassurance that comes from the belief that you can always get to something tomorrow which results in you vastly underestimating how important today actually is.

Time is never guaranteed, yet it’s so easy to fall back into the belief that it is.

Whatever you have to do to metaphorically grab yourself by the shoulders and shake away this illusion, do it.

When you suspend the illusion and can see this moment in front of you for the precious and severely limited asset that it actually is, it’s so much easier to move forward courageously and without hesitation.
